It's one thing to be a Daddy's girl and it is another thing to be loved by everyone in your community.
Growing up,aside being a Daddy's girl,I was loved by everybody around me. I think this is why I am never conscious of this saying,"Everybody cannot love you"
I was not that kid that got her fees paid by only her dad, anybody in my neighborhood could offer to pay my fees.
I can choose not to have lunch or dinner at home. Well,my Dad had to get use to it,since I was everybody's child
My dad didn't had to bother about buying clothes for me because people always get clothes for me and yeah, I always have money, believe me,the love was massive.
People were always around me to support me.
The love was so great that it started overflowing to the extent that we didn't have to pay for some foodstuff. whenever
my dad sent my siblings and I, what they would always ask was"Is it for you or somebody sent you?" And if it was for us,then it is free.
I can go on and on,from house rents being paid to free school uniforms, to whatever you need, just tell me.
This is not fiction but my reality
I won't say that,I played a major part in all of that because I know that it was just the testimony of Jesus that manifesting in my life, I grew in stature and in favour from both God and men but there was one thing I know I was very good at,greeting and running errands. Lol.
I could run errands for people from morning till night, there were times my big sister will get angry at me for leaving my food to run errands for people but Nahhhh! I don't do that anymore,I can't even run errands for myself,I grew lazy but you won't blame me,I had run so many errands while growing up.
I know that is not all there is to respect but at that age, that was my own definition of respect.
Respect is not something we talk about in our churches because we believe everybody should know about it,yes! It is true that we all know about it but why is our world like this. "It is a very critical issue", in Bro Gbile's voice.
We live in a very rude world and unfortunately people are becoming ruder by the minute. Common courtesy isn't so common any more. It seems that respect for people is now old fashioned. Respect for people is now eye service,we respect them in their presence but belittle them in their absence.
Our favorite kind of humor today is sarcasm.
The youth, comedians and even musicians all have their favorite targets and they are those in authority, those in leadership; those who should be respected if for no other reason than because of their position.
But the Bible makes it very clear that respect is one of those values that is necessary for life. The Bible is very specific about this. We find that we are to respect parents, people in authority, and church leadership. The Scriptures go on to instruct wives to respect and reverence their husbands and husbands are to respect and reverence their wives. And if we think that someone doesn't fit the above categories, the Lord tells us that we should respect and honor all men.
Sometimes we loose our respect for people when we come close to them and realize their weakness but You must not forget that we all are a work in progress.
It is very important that we do not forget where we came from.
let's remember that we are all made of the same stuff_ flesh.
You owe everybody respect even those that you feel they don't deserve your precious respect. You must respect all men because it is a command.
The beautiful part of respect is that,it is reciprocal. You can't give out respect and receive disrespect,if you do then you didn't dish the respect well.
I have shared my story here,so you can understand how important it is to respect people and the benefits that comes with it.
Respect is love in action.
If you love me,then you will respect me and love is the fundamental unit of life, you start living when you start loving people genuinely.

Such a beautiful piece.
Truly, respect for men cannot be undermined or over emphasized
This has been carefully put together, I share some common traits with you Deborah
Greeting and running errands was my way back when I was just a kid, and it really went a long way for me as a child and uptil date.
And knowing the word has kept me in constant check
Thank you!
Interesting.
This is really profound, awesome, thank GOD for you.
