How To Overcome Addictions

After praying 2 hours in the HolyGhost, she knew she had been delivered, she felt her weakness leaving her and then she went to lie down in her bed but while she tried sleeping, she felt her hand all over her body, there she goes again, the urge came strongly this time and she couldn't resist the thoughts of masturbating.
Yes,she did it,she couldn't stop herself, she tried but she failed yet again.

He and his girlfriend were listening to a message,a powerful message by a great general of our time but after sometime, the message made no sense to the both of them, all they wanted to do at that time was to satisfy their sexual urge, they promised they were not going to defile their bed until marriage but they had defiled it again and again, even though they made the same promise over and over again after every time they break it.

This might not be your story but maybe something similar or something you think is not as serious as this but you really want to break free.
You have prayed about that glutton habit that have really made you as broke as hell but you don't know how to stop.

Then there you go,reading different books on how to break from free from addiction.
You were asked to burn Bridges, you burnt all and even broke up with the love of your life, just so you can be free, yet you are still under the strong influence of your addiction.

First of all,I want you to know that your decision is very important in overcoming addictions.
Most times,we just pray and hope that God will make us hate our addictions, without doing our own part. Hold on! I am not limiting the power of God,I have heard of people that stopped smoking suddenly, without even trying to stop

As much as you pray, you must also be very intentional about your decision to change.
You must know that making a decision to change is not easy but it is the first step to take.
Taking this step does not guarantee total freedom from your addiction but this decision must be made.

Although others may think that the decision to break an addiction is easy, the truth is, you are showing a lot of courage in deciding to break your addiction and that is why it is the biggest step to take.

After making this decision, you are not going to stop doing all the things you don't want to do.
There will be days, where you will fail in your promises. There are days you will feel like you are getting worse but this is not the time to give up.

Going back to your addiction over and over again, does not mean you are created that way. You are not created with addictions,so your addictions does not make you who you are. Know this
Accepting your addiction as part of you is like adding more chains to the hands of a prisoner.

Know that, the little steps you take in overcoming your addiction matters alot.
You can fall so many times while making those steps but the little steps you take must be cherished.
A baby does not start running a day after he takes his first step, you know.

It is also important to understand that everyone has a bad day. You may feel miserable mentally or physically or just angry at the world. Maybe overwhelmed by cravings. You may feel scared and alone. This happens to everyone, with or without addiction.

Don't get too mad at yourself, what matters so much is your unwavering decision.
As stated above, nothing should make you accept your addictions

You are more than your weakness
You are more than your addictions
Don't give up your fight to be free
    Trust God to help you
    I see God helping you.

I know you want to see steps listed out but all I want to do is to encourage you to make a bold decision to break free and consistently keep making the little steps you make in overcoming them. Your progress may be little but do you remember how you always fall in your infant age but look at you now,you hardly fall,I am sure you can't even remember the last time you fell.

Soon, you won't even remember you had an addiction.
