Let me state this clearly. This blog is not by any means trying to convey a message to the people that the Bible does not speak to every aspect of our lives, the Bible is our life manual, so it contains everything but there is some stuff that we feel are not spiritual and so we don't talk about them in religious gatherings and that's the reason for the unusual Church sermon blog.
Like many of us, I was born into the church, I attended Sunday schools, I recited verses in the scriptures offhand, I learned to teach other children too, not just I, a lot of other children my age were taught all of that too. You could see that we loved God and the possibility of walking with Him forever was undoubtedly high. Yes! By our dedication to the things of God, you could predict we would cause great revival on earth but it's quite unfortunate that a lot of the children I grew up in the church with are no longer in the church, they chose to answer the call from the other side instead and I kept asking myself "why"?
Everybody wants to be accepted the way they are but the church always wants people to come already refined.
I am one person that goes to the church and keeps my phone properly because I don't want it stolen but it's so funny to see people go to Church and keep their things carelessly with that popular statement on their lips " this is the church of God".
The reason I keep my phone or belongings properly in the church is that I am expecting some sick people in the church too. I use the word "sick" because I liken the church to the hospital. I believe some people are already recovering from their illnesses while they're those who had recovered and just waiting to be discharged and they're those who are very sick and need to be treated but because everybody wants people looking like saints in the church, people come looking all righteous and when they are tired of pretending, they leave the church, just as a sick person who the doctor does not attend to will leave the hospital for another.
People want to feel accepted. People, want to be loved unconditionally, and when they don't get it, they will leave.
There is something about the world, it accepts people the way they are without judging or trying to change them, then after a while, it transforms them. Yes! It's true. No wonder, you see a church girl who leaves the faith, transforms into a diva after some time in the world, she doesn't just transform immediately, she starts by showing some part of her body, and as she goes deeper, you see her walking in the street almost naked.
First of all, they accept her the way she is, they show her great love even though the love is fake, they provide her with the kind of clothes they want her to be wearing, they don't even mind teaching her how to make money to fend for herself until and that's tow they earned her trust and so it is easy for her to open herself up to them and that's how they get to feed her with lies but what do we do after judging and condemning her way of life in the church? Do we care to give her the clothes that can cover her up or do we just leave her with the hope that she can fend for herself?
It's hard to see a lady that has committed abortion come to the church to open up to us because she does not trust the church, she is afraid, we will stone her by using her situationo to preach the next Sunday
We didn't see Jesus, shouting at the prostitute to go change her clothes instead He gave a word that's so beautiful, yet powerful. "Your sins are forgiven"
Hold on! She didn't change before He told her that her sins are forgiven, she didn't even tell Him that she was going to stop prostitution, yet, her sins were forgiven and, with those four words, that didn't condemn her but revealed the father's love to her, she became a very important person in the kingdom.
I say, enough of pushing people away from the fold, let's do it the way Jesus will do it.
Stop expecting too much from people that don't have the power to change themselves, remember, it is He who gives us the power to do of His good pleasure.
Allow them to come to their father.
Nobody changes suddenly. Give people room to grow. I know your eyes can't see evil but can you be patient with them or I will say with us instead because we are still growing into perfection.
The world promotes their talents, can we do the same too, some people go the world because the world appreciates their talents more. The devil does not give talents, so can we allow them to use their God-given talents in the church without making it look like, it is only the singing talent that is from God.
The church needs to learn to love people unconditionally and learn to see what God can do with their lives, with that, we won't just see that prostitute or that thief for who they are present but for what they can become by the time Jesus finishes with them.
Oh, we need to continue this some other time
To be continued!

I love the way you put it..so simple.
We really need to talk about this again, like many people learn how to sing from the church then go outside later, what about our dancers. Omo there's a whole lot
"I know you r eyes can't see evil, but be patient with us while we grow into perfection."
Patient enough to not judge they look like "...presently but for what they can become by the time Jesus finishes with them."
Great piece...
God bless you.
